Refunds
Fourteen days, no quibbling.
You are buying something for someone else, sight unseen, and you cannot know in advance whether they will take to it. So the answer is simply yes.

The promise
Ask within 14 days of buying and we will refund you in full. You do not have to explain why, and you do not have to prove anything. Write to hello@valoraparentis.com with the email address you bought with, and we will return the money the same way it came.
Even after you have installed it
Yes — even if you have activated it and used it. That is the whole point: there is no trial, so the only way to find out whether it suits your mum is to try it with her. A refund policy that ended the moment you installed it would be no use to anyone.
Your cancellation right, and what you agreed at checkout
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase. Because your activation code is delivered immediately, we ask you to tick a box at checkout consenting to that immediate delivery. Ticking it can end the statutory cancellation right — so we give you the same 14 days as our own promise instead. You are not worse off; we simply did not want the box to be the end of the conversation.
What we ask of you in return
Please uninstall it from any computer you activated. We will take your word for it. The app has no way to check, because it never contacts us once activated — the same design that means it works without internet and reports nothing about the person using it. We would rather trust you than build something that phones home.
What a refund does change
Your licence is closed, so it cannot be activated on any further computer, and it cannot be re-activated if a machine is rebuilt or Windows reinstalled.
After the 14 days
The formal promise ends, but do write anyway. If the app is not doing what we said it would, that is a fault and your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not limited by any time we put on this page.
