About us
Why we built Valora Parentis.
A parent going quiet online usually isn't about ability — it's about everything getting harder. We wanted to make their part of the computer calm again, without taking it over.
What the name means
Valora Parentis means to value the parent. It's a deliberate answer to a phrase you may know — in loco parentis, “in place of a parent”. We're not here to take anyone's place. The person who raised you stays in charge of their own life; we just make their part of the computer make sense again.
Dignity first
It never treats the person like a child or a patient. Big, clear and kind — a hand when they want one, not a manager watching over them.
Honest by design
We don't sell fear or make promises we can't keep. It isn't antivirus, it can't stop every scam, and it never tracks your parent. What it does, it does well.
On the computer they already own
No new gadget to buy or learn. My World runs on the Windows computer that's already in the house.
Built around real needs
Shaped around stroke recovery and ageing eyes — one-sided vision, shaky hands, word and memory difficulty — with a carer who can help from anywhere.
Bring them a little closer.
A calmer computer, the faces they love, and a hand when they want one. Set up together, in an afternoon.
